She served on the board of Xilinx, Inc. for over 20 years and joined the board of AMD subsequent to its acquisition. Beth also serves on the boards of AESC Group Ltd. (an EV battery technology company) and Universe Holdings (a global provider of energy and carbon management technology solutions and services). Dr. Anirudh Devgan is President and CEO of Cadence and is a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Chelsea Finn is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, the William George and Ida Mary Hoover Faculty Fellow, and a co-founder of Physical Intelligence (Pi). Her research interests lie in the capability of robots and other agents to develop broadly intelligent behavior through learning and interaction. To this end, her work has pioneered end-to-end deep learning methods for vision-based robotic manipulation, meta-learning algorithms for few-shot learning, and approaches for scaling robot learning to broad datasets. Dr. John L. Hennessy is Chair of the Board of Alphabet, Inc. and served on the Board of Directors for Cisco Systems. He is the Director of Knight-Hennessy Scholars, the largest fully endowed graduate-level scholarship program in the world. John has been heralded for the impact he had as the tenth President of Stanford University, a position he held for 16 years. Dr. Joy Buolamwini is a computer scientist and poet of code who uses art and research to illuminate the social implications of artificial intelligence. Her MIT thesis methodology uncovered racial and gender bias in AI services and as a result, numerous companies stepped back from selling facial recognition technology to law enforcement. Dr. Tsu-Jae King Liu is the Dean of the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley, and recently received the IEEE Founders Medal. Early in her career, she joined the faculty of the UC Berkeley, where she has held various administrative leadership positions. Dr. Liu has authored or co-authored over 550 publications and holds over 90 patents. She is an IEEE Fellow and an elected member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering. She earned her B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Fern Mandelbaum is a Managing Director at Emerson Collective, where she leads early-stage investing. She is also a professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she created and teaches “Entrepreneurship from Diverse Perspectives,” “POWer–Building the Entrepreneurial Mindset,” and “Equity by Design – Building Diverse and Inclusive Organizations.” Fern also teaches PhDs and Postdocs the entrepreneurial mindset in the Emerson Consequential Scholars Program, which she started. Dr. Jennifer Widom is the Frederick Emmons Terman Dean of the School of Engineering and the Fletcher Jones Professor in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. She served as Computer Science Department Chair from 2009-2014 and School of Engineering Senior Associate Dean from 2014-2016. She was a Research Staff Member at the IBM Almaden Research Center before joining the Stanford faculty. Her research interests span many aspects of nontraditional data management. Katya Echazarreta moved to the United States from Mexico at the age of eight. In 2022, she made history as the first Mexican-born woman in space, chosen by Space for Humanity to participate in a mission studying the "Overview Effect." Miriam Vogel has extensive experience establishing best practices for legal and regulatory compliance and responsible AI governance practices within Fortune 100 companies. She is the President and CEO of EqualAI, a nonprofit created to reduce bias and other harms in AI and promote responsible AI governance. She also serves as Chair of the National AI Advisory Committee, mandated by Congress to advise the President and White House on AI policy. Miriam has served in many leadership positions across the U.S. government, most recently, as Associate Deputy Attorney General at the Department of Justice, advising the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General. Under the direction of Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, Miriam led the creation and development of the Implicit Bias Training for Federal Law Enforcement. She served in the White House in two Administrations, including as the Acting Director of Justice and Regulatory Affairs. She led the President's Equal Pay Task Force to promote equality in the workplace. Dr. Asu Ozdaglar leads the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department and is the Deputy Dean of Academics for the Schwarzman College of Computing at MIT. Her research focuses on technical and societal aspects of large-scale data-driven systems. Asu’s expertise includes optimization, machine learning, economics, and networks. In recent years, she has investigated data ownership and markets, the spread of misinformation on social media, economic and financial contagion, and social learning. In addition, she has an active research program on large-scale optimization, especially in the context of machine learning. Asu received her PhD Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT and her Bachelor’s from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey.
Dr. Sarah H. Cen is a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford and an incoming Assistant Professor at CMU. Dr. Cen recently finished her PhD at MIT in EECS, where she was a proud Thriving Star of AI and advised by Prof. Aleksander Mądry and Prof. Devavrat Shah. At Stanford, she works with Prof. Daniel Ho and Prof. Percy Liang in a joint position between the Department of Computer Science and the Law School. Dr. Cen's research is focused on the intersection of machine learning and AI accountability, exploring how computer science, law, and policy come together to ensure that AI is developed and deployed responsibly. Paula Goldman is Salesforce’s first-ever EVP, Chief Ethical and Humane Use Officer. Kathy Pham is vice president of artificial intelligence at Workday. She is the first Workday AI ambassador and hosts the AI Horizons video series. Ece Kamar is the VP of Research and the Managing Director of the AI Frontiers Lab at Microsoft Research. She leads research and development towards pushing the frontiers of AI capabilities. Ece has a decade of experience studying the impact of AI on society and developing AI systems that are reliable, unbiased and trustworthy. She has been instrumental in building the Responsible AI efforts inside Microsoft. She serves as Technical Advisor for Microsoft’s Internal Committee on AI, Engineering and Ethics. Brandi Chastain is a two-time FIFA World Cup champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist and inductee to the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Brandi is now a co-founder of Bay FC, the first National Women’s Soccer League team in the Bay Area. Tina has been instrumental in the company’s phenomenal growth, now operating in 25 countries with over 13,000 employees, and its business success, making it one of the top 10 best performing companies in the NASDAQ 100 and S&P 500 over the last decade. Tina also serves on the Board of Directors of tech unicorn Visier, and as Chair of their Compensation Committee. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and her Graduate degree from UCLA Law School, after which she clerked on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and then worked at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher before joining Cadence.
